(subject to change)
About product: Cordyceps grow at altitudes 3,900-5,004 m above sea level. Harvesting of the fungus was liberalized in 2004 in Bhutan, ever since it has become the main source of income for the people living in the mountains of Bhutan. An average dried cordyceps weighs 0.19 g and 0.47 g when fresh. Dubbed as the worldıs most expensive mushroom, Cordyceps sinensis was sold for between US$ 6,126 and 10,450 a kg in 2007 from Thimphu, Bhutan. Villagers are allowed one month a year for collection so that the fungus is not over-harvested. After five seasons of legalized picking, villagers in the region have their own insight about the caterpillarıs growth. They assume that the caterpillars move backwards as they bury themselves in the earth.
